I had these shoes for the past 9 years, for my backpacking trips. They are light and very comfortable, and have a good grip. I have taken them over rough terrain of boulders, sharp rocks and scree slopes and through many swamps soaking them in mud for days in a row. I just wash them in a tub and grease them with leather grease when they dry until the next trip. Still in decent shape. I bought a new pair for when the ones i have run their course.
