Elastic strap 'major flaw' for these beautiful well made sandals

Purchased in a 9W. Well structured, wonderful footbed and comfort with the exception of the 'elastic' strap that does not secure the foot properly rendering them useless to wear. Aravon should not use elastic. Not sure if they were cheaping out (saves a lot of leather) or thought it would be a good idea. A fail in my opinion but may work for other people.
